Abstract

The aim of the research is to prepare a proposed unit based on the entrance to phonemic awareness and measure its effectiveness in developing writing skills for third-grade students in Egypt, as well as identifying the effectiveness of the proposed unit in developing writing skills for these students. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach and the experimental method. preparing a list of appropriate writing skills for these students, and then preparing a test on the main writing skills; To determine the extent to which these students have mastered these skills, and finally to design a proposed unit to develop some of the writing skills that students suffer from weakness. The most important results were that the students of the experimental group had used the procedures of the entrance to phonemic awareness in writing; Which led to an improvement in their writing skills, an increase in their ability to write exact words, write nominal and verbal sentences correctly, use appropriate vocabulary for the situation, employ and use new vocabulary in linguistically correct sentences, be able to summarize a topic or paragraph they listened or read about, and describe accurately their relationships with their families and their teacher, and they could formulate questions correctly, and were able to answer them, while the control group pupils did not have that improvement; Because they did not study the proposed unit, as for the effectiveness of the proposed unit based on the entrance to phonemic awareness, it has proven its effectiveness for the experimental group in acquiring the main skills of writing, because the procedures for the entrance to phonemic awareness gained the third grade students the ability and skill to employ phonemic awareness skills while writing, which It enabled them to express themselves efficiently and effectively after acquiring the main skills of phonemic awareness such as awareness of total and syllabic phonemic units and awareness of the phonemic structure of letters and words, which positively affected students while writing; Because phonemic awareness is essential to knowing the principles of spelling in the written language system.
