THE EFFECT OF PROACTIVE PERSONALITY ON TEACHERS' MORAL IMAGINATION, PSYCHOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT AND INNOVATIVE WORK BEHAVIOUR

Abstract

The present study aimed at identifying the relationship between the teacher's proactive personality and both moral imagination, psychological empowerment as well as the innovate work behaviour. It also aimed at investigating the differences between these variables according to the different levels of this personality (high – moderate – low). It also tried to tackle the contribution of these dimensions in these variables. The study sample consisted of 312 male and female teachers at the private schools, Nasr City educational administration, Cairo, with nearly 35 years old. . The findings showed that there was a statistically significant positive correlation at 0.01 between the teacher's proactive personality dimensions and the score of the three variables as awhole and separately. There were also statistically significant differences between all the variables and the whole score of the three ones according to the difference in proactive personality level. There was a statistically significant effect of the proactive personality dimensions on moral imagination as well as the psychological empowerment and the innovate work behaviour
