Using a Suggested Strategy Based on VARK Patterns in Teaching Science for Developing Pivotal Thinking Skills and the Academic Achievement Motivation of Six Grade Primary Stage Students.

Abstract

The present research aimed at identifying the effect of using a suggested strategy based on VARK patterns in teaching science for developing pivotal thinking Skills and the academic achievement motivation of six grade primary stage students.The current research relied on a quasi-experimental design with two groups, control and experimental . The research materials and tools were; the teacher's guide, activities and class task book designed according to the suggested strategy based on VARK patterns, the pivotal thinking Skills test, and the academic achievement motivation scale. The research sample consisted of (80) male and female pupils enrolled in the six grade primary school at Mustafa Suleiman Elementary Joint School affiliated to the Sadafa Educational Administration, Assiut Governorate . in the first semester of the school year 2020/2021. After the administration and statistical treatments of the research experiment, the following results proved that there was a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental and the control group in the post-testing of the pivotal test as a whole and in each one of its dimensions, and in the academic achievement motivation scale as a whole and in each one of its dimensions in favor of the experimental group. Also the research results showed that there was a statistically significant correlation at (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post testing of the pivotal thinking Skills test and the academic achievement motivation scale.
