Effectiveness of a Program for Developing some Positive Thinking Skills a University Female Student as an Approach to Improve Passion Love and Affiliation

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the effectiveness of a training program to develop some positive thinking skills among the university female students as an approach to improve passion love and affiliation. The study sample consisted of (60) female students in the second year of psychology department at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences - Al Jabal Al Gharbi University in Libya whose scores are under the Minimum Quartiles based on the results of Positive Thinking Skills Scale (prepared by the researcher), the Passion Scale (prepared by Manal Mahmoud, 2014), the Affiliation Scale (Prepared by Manal Mahmoud, 2014). They were divided into two groups: the experimental group includes (30) female students of the university who were subjected to the training program and the control group includes (30) female students of the university who weren't subjected to the training program. The results of the study indicated the effectiveness of the training program in improving the passion and affiliation among the female students of the experimental group as well as the predominance of the experimental group over the control group in the extent of improvement on the scales (positive thinking skills, passion, affiliation) after the first group has been subjected to the training program.
