The Effectiveness of the Story – Based Program to Reduce Aggressive Behavior Among Kindergarten Children in Residential Institutions

Abstract

The research aims,to reduce aggressive behavior among kindergarten children in residential institutions. The research used the quasi-experimental method, the study sample consisted of (40) boys and girls divided into two groups, a control group (20), and an experimental group (20) aged (5-7) years at "Awlady" Institution ,The research used Raven's intelligence test, the scale of depicted aggressive behavior of the kindergarten child in the residential institutions, the supervisors' note card for the aggressive behavior of the kindergarten children in the residential institutions, a story-based program. The results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in aggressive behavior after applying the program in favor of the experimental group, there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the two measurements, the pre and post measures, in the aggressive behavior of the experimental group members in favor of the post-measurement, there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the post and follow-up measurements in the aggressive behavior of the experimental group.
