Using McCarthy model in developing the Historical Concepts and Evaluative Thinking skills for the secondary stage students

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of using McCarthy's model in developing the historical Concepts and evaluative thinking skills for the secondary stage students. The subjects of the study consisted of (32) students of the first-grade students from Ali Alodasy secondary school in Luxor of the academic year 2017/2018. The researcher prepared a historical concepts and evaluative thinking skills tests, which applied after verifying their sincerity and stability. The researcher followed the experimental educational method. The results revealed statistically significant differences in the students' achievements of historical concepts and evaluative thinking skills due to using McCarthy's model in the teaching. In the light of the results, the study recommended the invitation of history teachers to use McCarthy's model in their teaching
