Abstract

The present study aimed at preparing and verifying the effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral guidance program to develop positive thinking skills to improve the quality of life and reduce the anxiety of the future among high school students. The study sample consisted of (30) secondary students divided into 15 students as experimental group, and 15 students as a control group. Taking into consideration the homogeneity of the sample members in terms of age, social level, economic and quality of life, The study tools were a positive measure of thinking for students in the secondary stage (researcher's preparation), a measure of the future anxiety of students in the secondary stage (researcher's preparation), social and economic level questionnaire (preparation of the researcher), quality of life standard prepared by the World Health Organization, A behavioral cognitive development program for the development of positive thinking skills to improve the quality of life and reduce future anxiety in a sample of secondary students (researcher preparation). The researcher used the appropriate statistical methods of study that are appropriate to the study hypotheses and the size of the sample. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the mean of 0.01 between the mean of the experimental group and the control on the measurement of the future anxiety in the dimension measurement in favor of the experimental group. This confirms the effectiveness of the behavioral cognitive guidance program used to reduce future anxiety and improve the quality of life of a sample of secondary students.
