Academic Procrastination and its Relationship to Life Satisfaction Among of Female Academic Staff of King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah

Abstract

 
This study aims to shed a light on the relationship between the academic procrastination and the degree of life Satisfaction  in some alumni members at King Abdul- aziz University Jeddah also, this study targets the level of academic procrastination, life Satisfaction , and level differences in accordance with the following variables: nationality, education level, social status, and the major or specialty of the people in this study. (104) was the sample number of different colleges alumni members, the method of the study is descriptive comparative. The measure of academic procrastination has been realized by (Alrabea, Shawashrah, Hizaji, 2014) and the life Satisfaction  measure by (Aldusooky, 1998) after the verification of its psychometric characteristics. The study has reached many results, the most important ones are: the level of academic procrastination within the study sample was very low while the degree of their life Satisfaction  was quite high. Plus, there is an inverse relationship between academic procrastination and life Satisfaction , moreover, there were no significant difference in the degree of academic procrastination in line of nationality and major variables. Meanwhile, there were differences in the level of procrastination in the averages among the lecturers who have different degrees (female in this study) in accordance with the social status of married women. Note that, there were no differences in the degree of life Satisfaction  in line with the nationality variable except for the (social) prospective, there were an evidence of difference between the groups especially in the non- Saudi, plus the difference in the degree of life Satisfaction  in line with the major variable, more, there were differences in the averages of life Satisfaction   of professors (males) in line of the education level variable also differences in the averages of life Satisfaction  in females in terms of social status
