A Proposal for Activating the Use of Foldables in the Learning of Mathematics to Female Intermediate Students

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the reality of the employment of foldables in the teaching of mathematics among the teachers of the Intermediate, and the reality of their students' use of them and the obstacles to that. A proposal for activating the use of foldables in learning of mathematics to female intermediate students was presented. The study followed three types of descriptive methods: surveying, content analysis, and analytic description. The study population consists of three categories: The mathematics Teachers in the Female Intermediate Schools of Al-Rass: the sample included (32) teachers;  The Students in Female Intermediate Schools of Al-Rass: the sample include (45) students; The Mathematics Foldables prepared by the Female Intermediate Students: the sample included (42) foldables. The study used three instruments: Questionnaire, an Interview Checklist, and a content analysis checklist of the foldables. The results of the study showed that the degree of employment foldables in the teaching of mathematics by teachers in terms of guiding students to prepare the foldables was high, and medium in the follow-up and evaluation of them. The degree of the use of foldables in the learning of  
 mathematics by students in the preparation of foldables was high, and low for the use of foldables, whereas it was medium in terms of taking notes in the foldables. The results of the study showed some of the obstacles that Hinder the use of students to Foldable properly. Finally, the study presented a proposal according of studying educational literature and the current reality.
