The school’s role in promoting education for global citizenship for its students at light of some contemporary changes

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the concept of education for global citizenship with the most important requirements for strengthening it among students، and also to identify the most important contemporary changes with their relationship to global citizenship، and the school’s role in promoting education for global citizenship in light of the education literature.
The research also presents a suggested proposal to activate the educational school role in promoting global citizenship in light of some contemporary changes ، it relied on the descriptive and analytical approach to reveal the theoretical requirements for promoting education for global citizenship،
The research recommended paying attention to the inclusion of education for global citizenship and global citizenship in the curricula and ccourses ، to activate the role of student activities, to providee a safer educational environment ,to develop the values of peace، constructive dialogue، scientific criticism، and to focus on preserves and in-service teacher preparation programs, That the school administration embodies the values of democracy, freedom of opinion and expression, and human relations in front of students.
