Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program to improve some cognitive processes as an introduction to develop communication skills for autism spectrum children merged into normal schools. The study sample consisted of (10) pupils, they are (7- 10) years, divided into two groups (5) pupils for experimental groups and (5) pupils for control groups, after adjusting some variables such as: the intelligence, the age, and the socio-cultural level of the family.The researcher has applied the following tools: Stanford Binet Intelligence Scales "Fifth Edition", CARS Diagnostic Test for Autism, Cognitive processes scale, Communication skills scale for autism spectrum children, Socio-cultural level scale, A program to improve some cognitive processes as an introduction to develop communication skills for autism spectrum children. The study has resulted in the effectiveness of the program developed by the researcher in improving some cognitive processes in order to develop communication skills for autism spectrum children merged into normal schools. There is a difference between the cognitive processes and the communication skills among the experimental group members and the control group members in the post scale. Also, there is no difference between the cognitive processes and the communication skills in the post scale and the track scale for the experimental group members.
