A WebQuest-based training program to develop special education student teachers' skills in diagnosing pupils with learning difficulties

Abstract


The present study aims at identifying the A WebQuest-based training program to develop special education student teachers' skills in diagnosing pupils with learning difficulties،  Jubail College of Education.
A checklist was devised that identifies the competencies that should be available in the student teacher at the department of Special Education in order to be able to diagnose pupils with learning difficulties as well as an achievement test to measure the cognitive side of the skills of diagnosis. Also، the researchers developed a rubric to measure the performance. The researchers used the quasi-experimental methodology. The instruments were administered before and after the experiment on 30 students and the results were: (1) the existence of statistically differences (0.05) between the means of scores of the pretest and posttest of the achievement test in favor of the posttest. (2) the existence of statistically differences (0.05) between the means of scores of the pretest and posttest of the rubric in favor of the posttest.
