The Effect of Using Cartoon Graphics in Teaching English Course To develop the speaking skills of fourth grade students

Abstract


The main objective of the study was to investigate the effect of using cartoons in teaching English in order to develop the skills of speaking in the fourth year students in Khamis Mushait city، that primary school is considered the most important educational stage، The main aim of the study was to prepare a suggested presentation format suitable for teaching unit chosen with cartoon drawings. The problem of the study was the weakness of the strategies of teaching English in general and in the strategies of teaching speaking skills specially، the researcher select a sample of students in the fourth year in Khamis Mushayt، the researcher used the analytical descriptive approach and the semi-experimental method. The researcher prepared the following tools: Proposed presentation format cartoon - Collective test. The most important findings of the study were the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of students of the two groups experimental and control in the post-acquisition for the experimental group، the existence of differences of statistical significance for the benefit of the experimental group، which indicates the effectiveness of using of cartoons. The study recommended the training of teachers on teaching using cartoons.
