Abstract

The educational theories are the main guiding principle for building the educational curriculum and bringing about the necessary development in its structures, as the human society hopes. It stems from the philosophy of society and is based on its objectives. Considering cultural openness, it is no longer possible to limit the construction of the educational approach to educational theories stemming from the same philosophy with a society. However, the Islamic society is subject to an educational philosophy that stems from the Islamic faith and is based on the moral and ethical constants imposed on the Muslim not to exceed them, which requires the educators to critique and analyze the educational theories of their culture before applying them. Among these educational theories is the structural theory of Jean Piaget. The current research interest focused on a critical and comparative study with the aim of guiding its principles to the correct direction which is consistent with the principles of Islamic philosophy. This contributes to providing the Islamic educational theory with educational concepts that are in line with the great Islamic philosophy of preserving the human entity; ethical, physical, behavioral and sustainable development. The research has reached the educational principles of structural theory in accordance with the principles of Islamic philosophy, but these principles emanating from Islamic philosophy were stronger in proportion to the human soul and its demands because of the controls that surrounded it under Islamic philosophy. The research also revealed the negatives surrounding some of the principles of structural theory and directing Islamic educational guidance.
