The Islamic Founding of the Environmental Education

Abstract


The research aimed at the Islamic founding of the environmental education, and used the fundamentalist and descriptive methods. It formed of a general framework and four sections divided into several demands as follows: the general framework included introduction of the research, its problem, questions, aims, importance, methodology and previous studies. Then the first topic entitled (the concept of the environment in Islam) consisted of two demands: the first demand discussed the definition of the environment and environmental education, and the second demand discussed the components of the environment. The second topic entitled (Environment from an Islamic perspective) consisted of five demands: The first demand discussed the environment in Quran and some of the educational benefits of the verses, the second demand discussed the environment from the perspective of the Prophet’s Sunnah, the third demand discussed the environment on some thinkers of Islam, the fourth demand presented the relationship between ecology and education from an Islamic perspective, and the fifth demand discussed the relationship of man to the environment. The third topic entitled (Ethics of Islam in preserving the environment) consisted of two demands: The first demand discussed the ethics related to the components of the environment, the second demand presented making the environmental balance and its fields. The fourth topic entitled (Methods of preserving the environment from the perspective of Islamic Education) consisted of four demands: the first demand discussed values ​​of the environmental preservation, the second demand was about enacting laws and applying them to reduce environmental corruption, the third demand was about activating environmental media, and the fourth demand covered the use of modern methods for teaching environmental education. The research concluded with the most prominent results, recommendations and proposals, then a list of references.
