Role of supervisors of the primary school in the Quality of the educational process

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the supervisors of the primary grades in improving the educational process consisting of these dimensions (teaching methods, classroom and extracurricular activities, the learning environment and the evaluation) in Madina. It also aimed to identify the statistical differences between the study sample perspectives of the role of the supervisors of the primary grades in improving the educational process in Madina due to these variables of the study (job, education and years of service).
To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher used the descriptive method and the questionnaire as a tool for this study. The study population was of (168) school leaders of the primary education and (2067) of teachers of the primary grades, as the questionnaire was applied to a sample consists of (50%) of school leaders, (84) school leaders and (10%) of teachers of the primary grades, (207) teachers.
The results of the study:
The study members strongly agreed with an arithmetic average of (3.80) on the role of the supervisors of the primary grades in improving the teaching process of all dimensions of the study, where the teaching methods were ranked first with an arithmetic average of (3.99), then the learning environment with an arithmetic average of (3.88). The evaluation was ranked third with an average of (3.88). Finally, classroom and extracurricular activities were ranked the least roles of the primary grades in improving the teaching process with an arithmetic average of (3.47).  While there were statistical differences at (0.05) level and less roles among the average responses of the study members about the total degree of the role of the supervisors of the primary grades in improving the teaching process of all dimensions of the current study according to job variable, in favor of school leaders.
There were no statistical differences among the average responses of the study members on the total degree of the role of the supervisors of the primary grades in improving the teaching process of all dimensions of the current study according to (education and years of service) variables.
Here are the study recommendations in the light of the results of this study:
1. Training the supervisors of the primary grades through training courses and workshops related to classroom and extracurricular activities that will develop the perfection of the teaching process, where the results showed that it was one of the least roles played by the supervisors in improving the teaching process.
2. The importance of the contribution of the supervisor of the elementary grades to create the educational environment for practicing various activities, where the results showed that the supervisor of the primary grades moderately contributes in that.
3. The importance of the role of the supervisor of the primary grades in participating with the teacher in making classroom and extracurricular activities plans, where the results showed that the study members moderately agreed on the role of the supervisor of the primary grades in that.
