Self-esteem and its Relationship to Academic Achievement among Female Students of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hail

Abstract

The aim of the study is to find out the relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement among a sample of students of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hail, and the researcher adopted the descriptive survey approach, and the researcher used the following tools to achieve the goal of the study: the demographic data form for the respondents (gender, age, average) and the self-esteem scale consisting of 35 items. The study was applied to (69) female students of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hail were randomly selected and the study reached the following results: Average level of self-esteem among students of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hail. There is no statistically significant correlation between self-esteem and academic achievement among students of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hail. There were no statistically significant differences in the degree of self-esteem due to the difference in the age of the student. Study Recommendations and Suggestions: Preparing and implementing guidance programs to enhance students' self-esteem. Creating a program in which students and parents participate and training them to raise self-esteem. Work to highlight the role of the family and the community surrounding the students in the student's upbringing together.
