Mental health and some demographic variables as predictors of batteries in the bosom of secondary school students

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of mental health and the level of cyber bullying among adolescents in secondary schools in the Bethlehem Governorate, and the significance of the differences in them according to the variables: gender, grade and place of residence. Using two questionnaires as tools for data collection and applied to a sample of (239) secondary school students in the Bethlehem Governorate, it was chosen by stratified random sampling method. The researcher used the descriptive and predictive approach to achieve the objectives of the study. The level of mental health was medium, while the level of cyber bullying was low. The results also showed the presence of statistically significant differences in mental health and cyber bullying attributable to gender, and the absence of statistically significant differences due to grade or place of residence. Among the recommendations to the Ministry of Education, the school and the family to raise the level of mental health and reduce the level of cyber bullying.
