The role of school administration in activating student counseling in girls' secondary schools Tabuk city

Abstract 
The study aimed at exploring the role of school management in activating the students social, educational, professional and protective counseling and guidance programs from the teachers' and students counselors' viewpoints in Tabuk girls' secondary schools. Also, the study aimed at exploring if there were statistically significant differences among the averages of the study sample's members' responses about the role of school management in guiding and counseling the students in Tabuk girls' secondary schools  due to the variables of: (school's type and current job). The study aimed at presenting procedural suggestions to overcome the obstacles faced by the school management to carry out its role in activating the students counseling and guidance programs in Tabuk girls' secondary schools. The study used the analytical descriptive method. The study's community consisted of (1021) students counselors and teachers where questionnaires were distributed to the study's sample's members which consisted of (337) students counselors and teachers.
 The study depended on the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. After the statistical processing by arithmetic averages, standard deviations and T-Test for two independent samples, the study reached the following results:  the role of school management in activating the students social, educational, guidanc and  protective professional and counseling  programs in Tabuk girls' secondary schools from the study's sample's members' viewpoints was high and in arithmetic averages of (4.03), (3.93), (3.83) and (3.75) consecutively; the role of school management in activating the students counseling and guidance programs in all study's axes was high and in an arithmetic average of (3.84); there were no statistically significant differences at (0.05) level among the responses of the study's sample's members due to the school's type and current job in all study's axes.
The study presented some recommendations. The study recommended the participation in the preparation of students' counselors and helping them overcome the obstacles which face them in order to activate their role in counseling and guidance programs.
