Abstract

Abstract
This research aimed at developing Qur'anic vocabulary and skills of understanding the Qur'anic text for the learners of Arabic as a foreign language in the intermediate level, through using a unit in the stories of the prophets.
This entailed theoretical research of related literature shown in chapter two of this research. This survey of related literature aimed at reaching a philosophical basis for the study and a list of Qur'anic words and another list of the skills of understanding the Qur'anic text.
Chapter three with research tools and procedures has included:

Preparing a list for the Qur'anic words that are suitable for the learners of Arabic language as a foreign languae for Islamic purposes in the intermediate level.
Preparing a list for the skills of understanding the Qur'anic text that are suitable for the learners.
Building the suggested unit in the stories of prophets.
Applying two pre-tests in Qur'anic words and skills of understanding the Qur'anic text.
Teaching the proposed unit to the research group.
Applying two post-tests in Qur'anic words and skills of understanding the Qur'anic text.

After analyzing the collected data statistically, it was found that the proposed unit in the stories of the prophets was effective in developing Qur'anic vocabulary and the skills of understanding Qur'anic text for the learners of Arabic as a foreign language.
 
Some recommendations and suggestions were presented in the light of research results.
